Inside the Handmade Construction of Every Casita Travel Trailer

At Casita, we believe that quality craftsmanship is the foundation of every great adventure. Each of our travel trailers is meticulously handmade at our factory in Rice, Texas, with an emphasis on durability, strength, and attention to detail. From the ultra-durable fiberglass shell to the custom interior finishes, every Casita is built to last, ensuring a lifetime of worry-free travel. In this blog, we’ll take you behind the scenes to explore the craftsmanship and dedication that goes into the design and construction of each Casita trailer, making it a trusted companion for your adventures.

Fiberglass Body Construction

Casita’s ultra durable waterproof top and bottom fiberglass hulls and fiberglass interior furniture are hand made at our factory in Rice, Texas. The strong and lightweight fiberglass shell construction of Casita Travel Trailers eliminates siding-over-frame construction and has no roof seems. We put the extra time and care into each unit, ensuring your adventure is only the best quality.

Belly Band Seal

Like the fiberglass hulls and furniture, we go the extra mile ensuring that your trailer will thrive on every adventure you go on. We use a fiberglass matt core in the construction of our top and bottom molds which adds strength and longevity. After the top and bottom hulls are blown, tested and inspected, they are adhered together and clamped down to ensure an airtight bond. Once the adhesive sets, the middle of the trailer is glassed together to ensure a permanent “seamless” stronger than steel bond that is water proof and lasts and lasts.

Sealed/Reinforced Base Flooring

We believe in worry free adventure, and that’s why we give you a trailer that has the same foundation on all your travel journey’s. Every Casita’s floor is reinforced with1/2″ ply wood and glassed onto the fiberglass bottom hull to ensure a strong, lightweight, waterproof, bond that is ultra durable, ultra strong, and ultra rot proof.

Interior Construction Part 1

Casita continues it’s quality construction from the glass room to the interior production facility. After the body of the trailer is tested and inspected to Casita standards, the interior construction process begins with the installation of pre-wiring, custom wall insulation, custom vinyl flooring, and base level appliances. This is the start of where your trailer truly becomes your own with the installation of optional add ons and features chosen by you to make your custom adventure a reality.

Interior Construction Part 2

After a series of rigorous testing and fine detailed inspection to Casita standards, we move on to the installation of all fiberglass furniture and storage cabinetry, as well as stand alone furniture. This is where you will see your trailer start to come to life as the model you have chosen starts to show it’s vivid design and detail tailored to your specific travel needs. 

Interior Construction Part 3

Once part 2 is completed and the Casita is vigorously tested and inspected, we move into the last part of the interior construction process. This is where the final items are crafted and installed such as the wooden cabinet doors, bathroom doors, and tables. This is also where the installation of the final appliances takes place such as the Air conditioner, refrigerator, and microwave. Your trailer is almost complete and your travel journey will begin shortly.

Rain Storm Simulator

Casita goes the extra mile to reach our goal of producing the best quality units in the industry. a Prime example is shown in our rain simulator. This 45 minute extra step gives Casita the chance to test our units and ensure we only give the best quality before ever hitting the road.

Final Inspection and Quality.

Casita continues to strive for producing a trailer that last the test of time and that is why we don’t stop the process after our rain storm simulator. The last station of our process is the final inspection and quality testing station. This is where we ensure every detailed part of our trailer is tested and inspected and is up to our standards. We do a 100+ point PDI inspection that is signed by the inspector and a copy is given to the customer. After that your trailer is inspected one more time before pick up and inspected once again while you are picking up or before your trailer is shipped.
